Car Lifts

Raise the ceiling on what your garage can do. A quality car lift converts dead floor space into genuine working clearance — giving you access, storage underneath, and the kind of organised bay that makes every task faster and more deliberate.

Questions We Get a Lot

The clearance you need depends on the lift type and the tallest vehicle you plan to raise. As a general rule, two-post and four-post lifts require a minimum finished ceiling height — typically between 11 and 12 feet — once the vehicle is fully elevated. Measure your slab-to-joist height before you order, and factor in any overhead door hardware that could reduce usable clearance.

Most residential car lifts require a concrete slab of at least 4 inches thick with adequate psi rating — many manufacturers specify 3,000 psi or higher. If your slab is older or thinner, a structural assessment by a qualified contractor before installation is a sound step. The lift's own documentation will state the exact concrete specification for your model.

A symmetric two-post lift positions the columns so the vehicle sits centred between them, which suits longer trucks and SUVs. An asymmetric configuration rotates the arms so the vehicle sits further back, keeping the door swing clear and making it easier to step in and out while the car is raised. For daily-driver work in a domestic bay, asymmetric geometry is generally the more practical choice.

About Our Car Lifts

A car lift is one of the few additions that changes the spatial logic of a garage outright. Instead of working around a vehicle at floor level, you work beneath it — at a comfortable, controlled height — or you stack a second vehicle in the same footprint an ordinary bay would give just one. That shift from passive storage to active workshop is what separates a finished garage from one that merely holds cars. Buyers should think about three things: the lift geometry that suits their vehicles, the slab specification their floor already meets, and the vertical clearance available from slab to structure. Two-post configurations suit frequent access and open workflow. Four-post platforms add stability and work well where alignment or long-term storage is the priority. Low-profile scissor designs address bays where overhead clearance is a constraint. Capacity ratings, column width, and arm reach all vary — match them to the heaviest vehicle in your collection, not the lightest. This is a permanent addition to the home. Treat the selection with the same care you'd give any architectural decision.
